Lea Conservation Couse Testimonial

Coral Conservation Internship – Review

We love to ask our guests for their review when we spend a week with them talking and working on conservation projects we have running in Pemuteran. Here below you will be able to read Lea Crete Simoes’s review. And yes, we promise, we haven’t changed any words in her testimonial.

Dive into Conservation and Adventure at Abyss Ocean World in Pemuteran, Bali!

Incredible experience at Abyss Ocean World dive center in Pemuteran, Bali! I spent the last week with them, and it was a wonderful trip all around. What began as a simple diving holiday turned into an inspiring journey of adventure and marine conservation.

Elevating Skills: PADI Certification

My brother and I initially booked this trip so that he could complete his Advanced PADI Open Water course, while I could tag along and do some fun dives. The instructors exceeded our expectations as they not only ensured that my brother’s course was thoroughly completed, but they were also incredibly welcoming. Their passion for the sport was extraordinarily contagious.

Making a Difference, One Dive at a Time

Beyond the wide variety of courses and expeditions that they offer, the dive shop’s commitment to marine conservation is truly inspiring. During my time with them, I participated in a successful beach cleanup that resulted in us having four full bags of recyclable materials. I also took part in the coral restoration project they have implemented, which involves cleaning and planting juvenile coral branches from different species. This was done in the company of a young marine conservation intern they had who was eager to share her knowledge of corals and the local marine life. This hands-on experience was both educational and fulfilling on so many levels. It is very apparent that Abyss Ocean World is dedicated to conserving and protecting Bali’s underwater world.

Fun Dives in Pemuteran and Menjangan Island

The fun dives were nothing short of amazing. Pemuteran is definitely one of my favorite spots to dive in all of Bali; it is truly a diver’s paradise. From its picturesque vibrant reefs to its diverse aquatic life, your eyes will not be disappointed. Each dive was a new adventure, guided by experts who knew the best areas and shared their expansive knowledge of the local marine ecosystem.

I would definitely recommend taking a day trip to Menjangan Island, a small island near the northwest coast of Bali which is accessible by boat with the dive center. The island is a part of the West Bali National Conservation Area and it is characterized by a deep wall that goes down to nearly 60 meters, filled with colorful reefs, large scale coral fans, and hidden caves. If you are looking to experience an unforgettable wall diving experience, this is the place to go!

A Dive Shop With a Heart

What sets Abyss Ocean World apart is without a doubt its people and its commitment to marine conservation. Besides offering unforgettable diving experiences, the center actively involves divers in their ongoing conservation projects. The entire team is dedicated to offering each customer a meaningful experience. Diving with Abyss isn’t just about exploring the underwater gems of Bali; it’s about becoming a part of a community that values and protects our oceans.

Final Thoughts: An Enriching and Unforgettable Experience

If you’re looking for a dive shop that combines top-notch diving with meaningful experiences, Abyss Ocean World is definitely the place to go. The team’s professionalism and friendliness made my brother and I feel like a part of the Abyss family. Whether you’re a snorkeler, a seasoned diver, or just starting, there is something for everyone.

I left Pemuteran with a deeper appreciation for the ocean and all that it has to offer. I felt more connected to the sea than I ever have before, and I can’t wait to go back.
