Safety & Emergency Preparedness

Yes, safety is our top priority at Abyss Ocean World. Our excursions are meticulously organized and conducted by experienced dive professionals and tour guides to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Children must be a minimum of 10 years to participate in diving activities. Children under the age of 6 years old are only able to join our shore based activities.

We strive to make diving accessible to everyone. Please inform us in advance if you have any specific accessibility needs, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Trip Planning & Logistics

  1. We accept deposits, payments via credit/debit cards with the Xendit platform (2% fee), PayPal (4% fee), and bank transfers.
  2. We accept payments at the dive center via cash in IDR and credit card (no fee).

Yes, there are several ATMs available.

We do NOT have a season that is distinguishably better than another. Each period has its positives and a few negatives. It depends on your own travel abilities and preferences with the overall experience.

  1. While travel insurance is not mandatory, we highly recommend that all customers have adequate coverage for their trip, including dive insurance for diving activities.
  2. For our Resort & Liveaboard Charters we require guests to have both travel and dive insurance.

It is advisable to confirm your booking in advance to secure your spot. However, we can accommodate last-minute bookings subject to availability.

Yes, individuals with preexisting medical conditions are still welcome to dive or snorkel with us. However, we will need a medical form signed by your practitioner to stipulate that you are fit to participate in any water activities.

Yes, there is reliable Wi-Fi access in North West Bali, although signal strength may vary depending on your location.

For daily diving activities:

  • 10% cancelation fee if more then 3 days before date of activity
  • 30% cancelation fee if less then 3 days before date of activity

 

For PADI courses:

  • PADI eLearning is NON REFUNDABLE once the code is accepted
  • 50% cancelation fee if more or less then 7 days before date of course
  • 5% rescheduling fee if more then 7 days before date of course

For Dive safaris and Indonesian trips:

  • 50% deposit due 385 days before the date of travel
  • Full payment due 115 days before the date of travel
  • All deposits are Non Refundable

Travel Logistics

Yes, we offer pick-up services from selected hotels in the area on the day of the activity. Please let us know your accommodation details, and we’ll make the necessary arrangements.

It is NOT possible to take a flight the same day as your diving activity. We recommend allowing a minimum of 24 hours between your last dive and your flight to reduce the risk of decompression sickness.

It is NOT possible to travel to or through the mountains of Bali the same day as your diving activity. For more information click here.

Equipment Options & Standards

Yes, the rental equipment is included.

While you are welcome to bring your own gear, we provide high-quality rental equipment that meets industry standards and undergoes regular inspection and maintenance.

We offer a variety of tank sizes to suit different diving preferences and experience levels. Our normal tanks are 12-liter in aluminum. We also have both 8-liter and 15-liter aluminum tanks available for an additional surcharge.

Yes, we offer Enriched Air (Nitrox) for certified divers for an extra charge.

Day of your Activities

We recommend bringing swimwear, reef safe sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.You may also want to bring a waterproof camera to capture your underwater adventures.

Yes, meals are included in most of our daily dive packages. Please refer to your activity page on our website for more details. We offer delicious local cuisine and refreshments.

The area of North West Bali is known for its calm waters, we do NOT have dive sites with extreme currents. The currents in the diving area can vary depending on the dive site and tidal conditions. Our experienced dive guides will provide a briefing on current conditions and safety guidelines before each dive.

Tipping is not mandatory but is greatly appreciated. If you feel that our dive guides and staff have provided exceptional service you may leave your tip in the tip box at the reception of the dive center, or directly to your guide. The gratuities received are shared between all team members as we believe that while you are doing your activities other members are working hard in the background to ensure these trips to be perfect.

The size of the group may vary depending on the activity and the day. We strive to keep our groups small to provide personalized attention and ensure a quality experience for all participants. Dive and snorkel groups will be maximum 4 divers per guide but are more often than others smaller than this.

While we do our best to accommodate all scheduled trips, safety is our top priority. In the event of bad weather, trips may be postponed or rescheduled for the safety of all. In the past 5 years we have had less than 10 days we needed to cancel our trips.

The water temperature typically ranges from 27-30 degrees Celsius year-round.

The boat ride to the dive sites typically takes less than 10 minutes for Pemuteran sites and less than 40 minutes for Menjangan Island.

Environmental Sustainability

To minimize our environmental impact, we encourage the use of reef-safe sunscreen to protect coral reefs and marine life from harmful chemicals. We have this product for sale at our dive center, from a company here in Indonesia.

A Dive Against Debris involves diving at a site where plastic and human debris have accumulated, usually due to currents. During the dive, we collect trash to clean the underwater area. The dive typically lasts between 40 and 50 minutes. Afterward, we return to the beach, sort and weigh the collected trash, and then log the dive on the PADI AWARE website.
