Dive Sites Overview

Rise and shine! Start your day with a 4:30 AM pickup from your hotel, where the adventure begins. Why the early start? We have a four-hour journey to our first dive site in Tulamben. Whether you prefer to chat or catch up on some sleep during the car ride, we have got you covered. Once we arrive, sip on a coffee as we set up your equipment and head straight into the water to explore the stunning USAT Liberty wreck. After your first dive, relish a local warung lunch with a breathtaking view of the impressive Agung volcano. The second dive site will be chosen based on the group’s interests and sea conditions. As we return to Pemuteran, enjoy a brief stop to visit a waterfall or indulge in a snack at a beautiful ocean-view restaurant.

Find out more about each dive site below!

Dive into history at the USAT Liberty, a WWII shipwreck turned iconic dive site in Indonesia. Explore its entire length, revealing hidden corners, while the calm conditions make it accessible to divers of all levels. Witness a thriving marine ecosystem around the wreck, from schools of fish to majestic bumphead parrotfish, trevallies, groupers, and various eel species, all adorned by vibrant coral growth. With depths ranging from a beginner-friendly 5 meters to an advanced 30 meters, the USAT Liberty promises a captivating underwater experience where history and marine wonders collide.

Depth: 1 – 35+ meters

A little south of the wreck, we have a long stretch of sand that gives us an incredible macro dive site known as Seraya Secret. From the beach or a boat, this gentle, black-sand slope offers us honeycomb moray eels, frogfishes, various types of nudibranchs such as thecacera, nembrotha, mexichromis and pygmy seahorses. Barracudas, stingrays, stonefish and the elusive harlequin shrimp also make appearances at Seraya, one of Claudine’s favorite dive sites.

Depth: 1 – 40+ meters

This dive site, located north of Jemeluk Bay, is a unique hybrid—half artificial reef, half natural. Scattered along the Amed coast are over 15 pyramids, from 5 to 28 meters deep. These structures serve as havens for nurseries, hosting an abundance of small glassfish, juvenile boxfish, and angelfish. The underwater landscape is adorned with fascinating marine life, including leaf scorpionfishes, pygmy seahorses, gloomy tambja, hawksbill turtles, and ribbon eels. Dive into the excitement of exploring some of the most captivating artificial reefs in the northern waters of Amed.

Depth: 5 – 30+ meters
