Diving Sites

Some of the most popular we will keep a few in our book of secret

Misool – Wayil

Wayil area is filled with great and original dive sites such as Neptune Seasons, Wedding Cake and Four Kings. Where the current can be welcome to bring a lot of nutrient to those dive sites, it is even more interested to have it on Neptune sea fans to drift along its wall recovered of gorgonian seafans. Mantas can be seen in a few dive sites in this area, schools of fusilliers, trivallies and also different types of pygmy seahorses

Misool – Fiabacet

Nudi Rock, Tank Rock, Whale Rock … this area is covered in limestones formation  and around it offers some great diving. Turtles, mantas, reef sharks and a plethora of critters and macro bio-diversity inhabit these reefs. A must dive in Misool

Misool – Warakaraket

Claudine’s favorite dive site, Magic Mountain can never get boring. Sighting of oceanic mantas, sharks, groupers, napoleons, trivellies combining to a magnificent coral garden on a sea mount.

Misool – Boo

Above and underwater prestigious landmark of Misool because of the two round shape windows that we can observe underwater at high tide or above, at low tide … The reef surrounding this little islet has a great variety of soft and hard coral and is also home of some schools of batfish and we can see cruising turtles, mantas and reef sharks as well. This is also the perfect night dive spot where ghostpipefish, candy crab and blurring octopus can be seen

Misool – Daram

Andiamo : One of our favorite dive site in the region is named Andiamo. It is memorable in terms of topography with its 3 pinnacles close to each other. Even if the surge can be impressive, the underwater scenery can be majestic

Batanta – South West

Diving in the South West of Batanta offers dive sites such as Happy ending and Reflexions. With little coral patch and a lot of black sand beaches, we can observe nudibranch, cowries, frogfish, cuttlefish, octopus, shrimp and crabs of all sorts and if we get luck a flamboyant cuttlefish from time to time. Let’s not forget the woebegone sharks that find shelters in the area.

Penemu

Area well know for its viewpoint, it is also worth diving as it offers dive sites such as My reef and Melissa’s garden to only name the most famous one. Great drift dive is offered as well in Keruo Channel and we have encounter a few reefs sharks and sailfish in Tanjung Burung. Definitely a highlight of our live aboard trip in Raja Ampat

Aerborek

Symbolic island of Raja Ampat, Aerborek beach is home to giant clams and a well colonised wooden jetty. From Manta to schools of yellowstripe scad or juvenile batfish to walking shark.

Gam/Yangeffo

A little channel between the two island gives us the opportunity to not only do some peaceful kayak but also to do either diving or snorkelling in the mangroves. The roots of the mangroves are filled with soft coral and also to a really funny looking fish name : XXXXXXXX. At sunset, it is also a good moment to get in the water to watch some mandarin fish finding there mate

Dampier Straight

Cape Kri is an iconic dive site when we think of this region. It is considered as holding the world record of the highest number of fish species record in a single dive. It is situated at the Northeast point of Kri island and has one the best current flowing between the island of Kri and Koh. Be ready to have a party with barracudas, fusiliers, Spanish mackerel. Many more dive sites will keep us excited till the end such as Blue Magic, Mike’s Point, Mioskon and Yenbuba jetty in Mansuar.
