Alami Alor
Alami Alor
Built in 2014, this dreamed resort was built by divers for divers. Every single bungalows (6) have two entrees to facilitate an easy access to the room. The main door is facing the water with some privacy for each one of the bungalows (some has hammocks, some other has a swing or some long chairs, and an other entrance is directly to the bathroom to be able to access our private shower directly after the dives as well as giving us some great hangers for our wetsuits. A common area if actually a great lounge where a gazebo allows us to chill at sunset if we want to make group apero and is also where our delicious meals are served every day.

Dive site (some of our favorite)

Great wall of Pantar

One of the most beautiful walls of Indonesia is situated on Pantar Strait. It is covered in bright pink and orange soft corals and hundreds of anthias. The topography of the dive sites si quite interesting with a little overhang where we can find quite a lot of different flat worms and nudibranchs.

Clown Valley

Situated in the South of Pulau Pura, this dive sites is actually a really worldwide know for its uniqueness. You will never see that concentration of anemones anywhere else in the world. A sloppy dive site carpeted by these anemones and clown fishes allow us to look for macro life and also for the cruising mola-mola and fresher sharks that aren’t uncommon to see. Be prepared to have a slightly colder water with some interesting thermocline.

House reef

Surrounded by healthy coral, under the jetty of the resort lies a plethora of life. From stonefish, to leaf scorpionfish to banded pipefish and much more. Do not forget mandarin fishes as well can be seen at any time of the day here. Probably the best house reef we have ver done in our life.

Red sand beach and Red Wall

Situated to the North of Pulau Pura, this dive sites is interesting by its red sand slope inside the bay and wall that lead us down to about 35 meters deep. The overhang is great for macro encounters and to see some great sweetlips and black snappers hanging around surrounding by coral whip and snake eels. In the bay, through the little patch of coral, you can see some gas vents with bubbles coming out of them (to not forget that Pulau Pura is a volcano (which has an elevation of about 1000 meters and is also known as Agung Maru).

Black Rhino

God that we loved this divesite. Black sand beach, great visibility and great sighting of macro life. This is one of the best dive sites to see one of our favorite fish in the ocean; the rhinopias. Paddle flap, weedy and lacey rhinopias can be seen here as well as some frogfish and nudibranch of all sorts.

Schools out

Never tired of seeing anthias? This is where they come out in the shallow water of this slope reef. Banded sea-snakes, giant moray eels and sharks can also be seen here.

Ghost town

We are definitely big fans of ghost pipefish and muck dive where we can see them. This dive sites is name after this strange fish as, during the right time of the year, we can encounter multiple ones as well as rhinopias, frogfish, shrimps, cuttlefish and octopus.

Pertamina Pier

Under the fuel depot of Pertamina lies a rocky slope and a sandy bottom under the pier. Seahorses of all kind, coleman shrimps and zebra crabs. Mandarin fish, frog fish and ghost pipe can also be seen.
